The Rarity of Organic Church

A friend was discussing what some call "organic Church" or "simple Church."

The term isn't to be found in the Bible because the Lord intended His design to never be supplemented, decimated, renovated and redesigned by man.

He, of course, knew it would be. As was the case in Eden, He just never intended for HIS creation to be altered by man.

"Organic Church" is, simply put.....The Church. (There is ONLY one - Ephesians 4:4.)

My friend was bemoaning the fact that it’s hard to find "Organic Church."

He's right. It’s rare to find it anywhere because the spirit of institutionalism (a spirit cast down to the earth along with Lucifer) has infiltrated and polluted the purity of the biblical Church.

If you want to find and practice a more organic style of Christianity.....one must open his living room up and invite people to worship Jesus purely...with no additives.

Or acknowledge that the word “church” comes from the Greek “ekklesia”, which quite simply means “gathered believers in Christ.” Begin to see that sharing one’s life in a coffee shop, living room, kitchen, break room, camping trip, in a boat…..is “Church” and receive that.

“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20)

Then begin resisting the spirit of institutional religion....because it WILL try to take back the ground.

Satan is afraid of people worshiping God and trusting Jesus alone. Satan is afraid of what happens when people walk in simple relationship with Jesus...and one another.

He knows this is how Jesus grew LARGE in the hearts of the people before the appearance of the Church was bulked up with fillers and padding...merely making the Church APPEAR to be growing.

Satan is afraid.

Therefore, he will dispatch the spirits of religion, territoriality and institutionalism to tempt us to trust in God...PLUS something or someone else.

We've practiced Christianity as purely as we are learning how for 17 plus years. My pastor Don Gunter (prior to his recent death) and his wife Shari did so for longer than that. Others have for even longer than they.

It’s VERY rare….but is becoming the norm for many once again, recapturing what was lost when the spirit of religion infiltrated and polluted the Church.

It’s not popular with many...because it lacks flash and the earthly things and trinkets that catch the eye of people who want what they want in programs, events, coffee kiosks, etc.

Just Jesus.

That's a beautiful thing.
