On Isolation

"A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment." (Proverb 18:1)

There is a time when the Lord would have us off somewhere alone with Him. That is a healthy thing.

Proverb 18:1 is not talking about that.

It’s talking about destructive isolation.

There are many things that cause a person to want to pull away from others completely and forever.

This is a favorite technique of the devil "who lives to kill, steal and destroy." (John 10:10)

He utilizes the misuse of alcohol and other drugs, workaholism, pornography, depression, unforgiveness and bitterness, wounds, disease....all sorts of things to keep us from being connected to those provided by the Lord Jesus to be a part of our lives.

RESIST THIS!

When I crave to REALLY be left alone (and sometimes I do) I take it as a signal that satan is trying to isolate me from others. I KNOW this goes against God's design for us as people and, therefore, is destructive.

My response is:

1) to cry out to God and ask Him to bless me with the sensation of HIS nearness (HIS presence) and

2) to seek out a true friend in the Lord and just BE with that person.

I WILL NOT allow satan to isolate me in a destructive manner and I encourage you strongly to not be entertainment for this malicious ex-archangel.

I let him to that to me FAR too many times in my past. Never again!

Submit to God and RESIST the devil in the name of Jesus. He WILL flee. He has no choice in the matter.

"Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7b)
