Who Would Jesus Torture?

I've been reading some interesting posts recently that have this term in them: "Who would Jesus torture?" This is in reference to the report that people in the U.S. government who seek to weaken the nation released recently.

The report is about the CIA torturing terrorists to get information from them so that....well, you and I, can be safer from these animals that get enjoyment out of beheading little children, raping girls and women, wantonly killing innocent people, fighting other combatants (our fellow American fighting men and women) in a cowardly manner (IED's and human bombs) and on an on.

The answer to the question "Who would Jesus torture?" is, obviously, "no one". Jesus loves people.

I don't know what the logic is behind the scenes in the minds of the people who write that quote that cause them to quote that.

Several other things seem evident to me about all this.

One is that I'm willing to bet that many people who ask the question "Who would Jesus torture?" most likely have never received Jesus as their Lord, are not involved with Him at all and are just doing what the world does all the time: they use Jesus when it is convenient to them.

I say this because the truth is that almost no one ever receives Jesus as Lord.

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." (Matthew 7:13-14)

So, many of the people who ask "Who would Jesus torture?" are just using the name of Jesus to make a point.

The main thing that seems evident to me about all this is built on a foundational thought:

There are only two choices as to how anyone can handle any disagreement, problem or difference in philosophy in life: we can handle it in an earthly manner or we can handle it spiritually. And if we choose to handle things spiritually we will either handle it by following the Holy Spirit of God or by following and obeying any variety of UNHOLY spirits: satan and his demons.

The people who choose to follow the teachings of Mohammed are lost. His teachings about how to deal with anyone who does not believe in Allah or the Quran are satanic in origin. They choose to follow satan, an unholy spirit.

They work out this satanic worship on the earth by sacrificing human beings to Allah, shouting out praises to his unholy name as they do so while inspiring fear in others by burning people alive, making people watch, beheading adults and children and babies, enslaving women and using them as sex slaves....treating them like cattle, bombing innocent people and on and on. Satan has a never ending list of ways to degrade people and cause human misery.

The people that the CIA tortured chose an earthly way of dealing with their differences with others. Any time we choose an earthly way of dealing with anything we also choose the consequences that are attached to that. The problem is that we never know what those will be.

Islamic terrorists enjoyed harming innocent people. That was great entertainment for them but the ones that were caught alive had no idea that when they chose to harm others like that they were also choosing to be at the mercy of other lost people who would use inhumane means to thwart the efforts of their fellow terrorists.

NONE of the people in this scenario chose Jesus. Jesus would torture no one but people outside of Jesus will....and people who enjoy terrorism willingly place themselves into the hands of ungodly men who might torture them.

That's how the system of the earth works.

"There are those who rebel against the light; they do not know its ways nor abide in its paths." (Job 24:13)

This has nothing to do with Jesus and as one of His people I resent that people are pulling Him into it.

To clarify: I am not a proponent of torture. I do, however, recognize that it exists and why it exists in the war on terror: it’s a part of the earthly package of being a terrorist.

While most of those reading will never become a terrorist or a CIA employee trying to protect other Americans we all have a moment by moment opportunity to either choose to allow the Lord to direct our paths via the direction of THE Holy Spirit or to choose an unholy and earthly way to manage our daily lives.

Whichever path we choose has consequences attached. The "consequences" attached to following God are known as "blessings." The consequences attached to following anything else (essentially, obeying satan) will all involve experiencing the earthly payoffs to this choice.

“…the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23a)

As a child of the Most High God I place this appeal before you today:

"I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them." (Deuteronomy 30:19-20)

There is only one source of real life: Jesus.

I urge you this day to choose Him repeatedly in each decision.
