In the Word of God only Jesus is elevated (high and lifted up) above the people. In the Word of God “rulers” function as equals to all other people. Godly rulers are assigned by GOD to simply lead the people in the way GOD wants them to be led. An Instruction From the Lord

Read these words from Proverb 22 and imagine that it is God Himself saying them to you (…because He is): “Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge; for it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you; let them all be fixed upon your lips so that your trust may be in the LORD; I have instructed you today, even you." (Proverb 22:17-19) The term “incline your ear” is like saying “cup your hand around your ear so that you can hear well.” God doesn’t want us to miss what was about to be said. The Anointing of God

What I am about to write might seem strange coming from one that the Lord Jesus has, for some reason, chosen to function in the role of a Christian leader. I think it is important to teach what the Bible teaches about things. In this case, I believe the topic should cause us to see ourselves (whatever our roles in the Body of Christ) and other Christians in a new light. Perhaps that will result in increased unity among us and in more people harvesting their spiritual gifts in Christ.
