Most people are imprisoned but
do not realize this. They think that living in misery is normal
life. Many feel dead and are captivated by things that they
believe will bring them life.
Some of these things lead to divorce,
drug addiction, suicidal feelings, various compulsive behaviors,
violence, death. Many find themselves in real, steel and concrete
jails and prisons in their search for vibrant life in the things
that control them.
The Bible calls these things “sin”, a word that
literally means “missing the mark”. In this case, “the mark” is
the real, vibrant life that is found only in Jesus
Christ.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he
who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal
life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of
death into life. “ (John 5:24)
